Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939) was a Czechoslovakian artist who pioneered the Art Nouveau style. His sensuous, ornate images in stained glass colors, elaborately curving lines, and ethereal women defined the look of the Art Nouveau movement. His life-size poster for the play, 'Gismonda' was the start of Art Nouveau and was a sensation. Mucha's style experienced an enthusiastic revival in the 1960s, particularly in psychedelic posters. Famous Alphonse Mucha prints that you can bring home today include his "1904 St. Louis World's Fair" and "Moet & Chandon" poster advertisements.
