Zero-G Airbus Aircraft, Artwork
16" x 12"
Photographic Print

Zero-G Airbus aircraft. Artwork of the Zero-G Airbus 300 aeroplane used by the European Space Agency for free-fall training and science experiments. This aircraft is operated by Novespace, a subsidiary of the French space agency CNES. The aircraft is flown to high altitudes (around 7000 metres) above the Bay of Biscay, and is placed in a parabolic trajectory that produces 20 seconds of free-fall conditions. The parabolic trajectory and a free-falling human is shown on the aircraft's tail. Several flights are flown annually, with around 30 parabolas flown in a single day. This aircraft has been in use for these flights since 1996.
