Water Lily Pond, 1900, by Claude Monet, 1840-1926, French Impressionist painting, oil on canvas. Monet bought marshy land near his Giverny home, transforming it into a pond, on which he built a Japanese-style wood bridge. He created the garden that would be one of his principal subjects for the rest of his life, and still attracts visitors. (BSLOC_2023_2_19)
