WW1 Georges Marie Ludovic Jules Guynemer (1894 1917) was a top air fighter for France during World War I. He became an ace by his fifth victory in February 1916, and was promoted to lieutenant in March. Less than a year later, Guynemer is seen here on the day he was promoted to Captain and commander of the Storks squadron.
