This is Boudhanath which is one of the largest stupas in Nepal. Stupas are all over Nepal (even in the mountains) and theyre Buddhist monuments meant to represent a seated Buddha once hes reached enlightenment. The square base is his legs, the round mound his body, and the spire his head. You can also see his eyes that are painted on each side of the stupa representing the allseeing nature of Buddha. When you walk around a stupa, youre supposed to walk clockwise around it which represents the Buddhist philosophy that life is an endless cycle of birth, suffering, and enlightenment
