She visited him every night while he lay asleep in a cave on Mount Latmus in Caria, and bore him 50 daughters. In Greek mythology, the cause of Endymion endless sleep varies: One version has Selene invoking the spell so she might enjoy his beauty undisturbed. Another has Seleness father, Zeus casting the spell as Endymions punishment for attempting to seduce his wife, Hera. (BSLOC_2023_5_2)
