Michelangelos statue of Moses, Church of San Pietro in Vincoli, Rome, Italy. This statue was intended to be the central feature of the tomb of Pope Julius II, which Michelangelo was commissioned to build in 1505. The tomb was supposed to be in the Cappella Maggiore in St Peters Basilica, but it was never completed to Michelangelos satisfaction and was moved to the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli.
