Chelsea Black Frame

International Space Station (ISS) space walk. Astronaut James S. Voss holding a camera while he orbits above Earth. He is anchored to the remote manipulator system (RMS, robotic arm) of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. Together with astronaut Jeffrey N. Williams, he carried out several installations and repairs on the ISS exterior. Photographed on 21 May 2000, during mission STS101. The ISS is a joint effort between the space agencies of the USA, Europe, Russia, Canada, Japan and Brazil. It orbits at an altitude of 350 kilometres, has been manned since October 2000 and is scheduled for completion in 2006.
