She looks outside with apprehension to a great procession of Christians, stretching back to a large classical edifice. Hypatia, was a non-Christian, and a follower of Neoplatonism, in a time of increasing Christian intolerance of Jews, and pagans. She was murdered by a Christian mob in 415 CE, when she was about age 60. (BSLOC_2023_4_55)
