Danielle O'Malley's acrylic painting, called 'Garden of Eden', was created in Oakland in the spring of 2020, while in the middle of the pandemic lockdown. This painting features a surreal, dreamlike landscape of a magical fantasy world, filled with amanita mushrooms, saguaro cactuses, tiny fairy houses, butterfly creatures and great goat house beasts. The landscape is watched over by a mother sun, who has shadow figures dancing along her rays. Inspired by her own dreams and subconcious in the thick of the pandemic, this painting reflects on themes of wilderness, unity, folklore and fantastical creatures
