The priest Father Mario Borrelli achieved international renown with his campaigns to aid abandoned street children of Naples, Italy, where the Scugnizzi or street urchins, ran wild amid the bombed buildings. Through his Casa dello Scugnizzo (House of the Urchins) at the derelict Church of Materdei (pictured), a huge amount of success was achieved, providing a new start in life for the youngsters of the city.
