ENEIDE mission to the ISS. Artwork of the International Space Station (ISS) over Italy during the ENEIDE mission of April 2005. ENEIDE (Esperimento di Navigazione per Evento Italiano Dimostrativo di EGNOS) tested the EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) support system for the GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellite navigation systems. Italian astronaut Roberto Vittori, arriving on the Soyuz TMA6 spacecraft (below the ISS) tested the EGNOS system, as well as carrying out several other experiments. Also in orbit were the ISS astronauts Sergei Krikalev, John Phillips, Leroy Chiao and Salizhan Sharipov.
