Dancing Fairies, 1866, by August Malmström, 1829–1901, Swedish painting, oil on canvas. A serpentine formation of luminescent fairies fly over a small river on a moonlit night. Maomstrom was influenced by 19th century national romanticism of Gothicismus, and Norse mythology. Gothicism was a cultural movement in Sweden, that glorified Swedish Geats, or Goths of ancient times. (BSLOC_2023_4_78)
