CassiniHuygens probe at Titan. Artwork of the joint NASAESA CassiniHuygens spacecraft firing its engine on one of its encounters with Titan in 2004. This followed a journey of seven years after the launch from Earth in 1997. Attached to the Cassini orbiter is the Huygens probe (yellow, dishshaped). The main antenna dish (grey), used to transmit pictures and data back to Earth, is at left. Huygens separated from Cassini on 25 December 2004, and descended to the surface of Saturns largest moon, Titan, in early 2005. As of 2012, Cassini is still orbiting Saturn and its mission has been extended to 2017.
