The famous Carnoustie Golf Links, in Carnoustie, Scotland, was designed by Alan Robertson in 1850, although golf has been played at the site since the 1500s. Old Tom Morris and James Braid would add improvements to the course, bringing it to eighteen holes and making it the championship course it is today. This aerial photo by Stephen Szurlej shows several of the holes along the coastline with its signature bunkers and rolling greens. Carnoustie was ranked No. 9 in Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Golf Courses Outside the US 2007-08 list.Photo licensed from the Condé Nast Collection, home of The New Yorker, Vogue, Vanity Fair and other popular brands.
