Bluefooted booby (Sula nebouxii) standing on a rock. This seabird is found on the Pacific coasts of Central America and northern South America, and on nearby islands. It eats fish, catching its prey by plungediving into shoals from above. The bluefooted booby nests in small colonies on islands, laying its eggs directly on the ground. The blue feet are used in courtship displays. Photographed in the Galapagos Islands.
