Highbury Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club from 19132006, aerial view. The stadium, officially called Arsenal Stadium, is located in Highbury, in the London Borough of Islington, UK. It is an allseater stadium with a capacity of 38,500. This was considered too small for a club of Arsenals stature, but the proximity of houses and roads meant the stadium could not be redeveloped. Arsenal FC built a new stadium, the Emirates Stadium, not far away at Ashburton Grove. This new stadium, with a capacity of 60,000, will be their home from the start of the 2006 season.
