This is a closeup view of the nose of the Museums North American FA Sabre The aircraft was assigned to the th Fighter Interceptor Group at Langley Air Force Base Virginia in July It was shipped to Japan in December with other Fs of the th Group and flown in Korea Most of its combat missions against Migs were flown from Kimpo Air Base near Seoul It is displayed in the markings of the th Fighter Wing the first F unit in Korea These markings were in use before June
