At lower left, a HU25 Falcon jet is using instruments to measure the chemical components from the exhaust of the DC8 aircraft. The DC8 is burning a 5050 blend of JP8 jet fuel and a renewable alternative fuel produced from Camelina plant oil. The conclusions were that the use of the biofuels reduced the amount of pollution produced. This test flight was part of the first Alternative Fuel Effects on Contrails and Cruise Emissions Study (ACCESS). ACCESS I took place in 2013. ACCESS II took place in 2014.
