Product Information
Acclaimed American illustrator Maxfield Parrish (1877 – 1966) created romanticized images aglow with magical colors and light. Learning to draw while recovering from typhoid fever, Parrish was inspired by the Old Masters and Pre-Raphaelites. He painstakingly created historic and romantic scenes using a geometric format called Dynamic Symmetry, and his brilliant colors were so admired that one was named “Parrish Blue” in his honor. For four decades, Parrish illustrated publications, ads, calendars and greeting cards. He single-handedly shaped the Golden Age of Illustration, and no other major artist has successfully copied his techniques. The Giclee printing process delivers a fine stream of ink resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display. This art print is produced on a heavy 310 gsm, acid-free and watercolor textured paper.
