Age and beauty become one in the nostalgic Parisian images of Chinese artist Chiu Tak-Hak. A self-taught artist, Tak-Hak preserves what he calls the “dying past” of Paris in mysterious, atmospheric scenes of the city’s timeworn, historic buildings. Tak-Hak moved to Paris in 1972, first painting abstractions, and later delving into a version of Realism that includes touches of Impressionism, Abstraction and collage. He is attracted to buildings with the lonely ambiance of a stage set awaiting the players. Tak-Hak's fascinating artwork has received acclaim at shows and galleries throughout the United States, Hong Kong, Germany and Paris.
