The compassion and affection for children that Jessie Wilcox-Smith expressed in her art emerged when she was a kindergarten teacher. Coerced into taking an art class that a relative was teaching, Wilcox-Smith was 20 when she accidentally discovered her artistic talent. Pursuing a formal art education, she went on to illustrate ads for “Ladies Home Journal.” Wholesome and sensitive, her images graced children’s books, magazine covers and ads for Cream of Wheat, Campbell’s Soup, the Red Cross and Ivory Soap. This art print was created using a sophisticated digital printer. The Giclee printing process delivers a fine stream of archival ink on archival paper, resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
