Shimmering and ethereal, Michael Longo’s landscapes embody the timelessness of a master Impressionist’s artwork. Longo, who was born in Colorado and lives in Arizona, creates misty water gardens whose focus is their dreamlike atmosphere, rather than the technique which created them. Apprenticing with a wood carver and furniture maker, Longo applies space and depth elements he learned in sculpture to his artwork. Longo also expresses the tranquility of Vancouver’s harbors and rivers, which he often visits, in his art.
