In his 1954 painting, “The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory,” Salvador Dali symbolically breaks down his famous “The Persistence of Memory” to represent the consequences of an atomic bomb. An artist who was strongly influenced by Freud, Dali (1904 – 1989) believed logic had failed humanity and turned to dreams and the subconscious to overcome the restrictions of reason. Easily recognizable by his unique blend of realism and bold, disturbingly dreamlike fantasy, Dali has become virtually synonymous with Surrealism. Poster is made of 50% recycled fiber.
