The works of Navajo artist Tony Abeyta represent his tribe’s belief that a higher power exists within everything and everyone. A native of New Mexico, Abeyta uses only bold colors in his creations, experimenting with oil, charcoal and sand. Abeyta’s extensive education includes undergraduate and graduate studies around the globe. When Washington, D.C.’s National Museum of the American Indian opened, Abeyta was commissioned to create its signature image.
