The simple pleasure of sitting in a meadow bejeweled by wildflowers and sunbeams is charmingly re-created in Mary Dipnall’s artworks. During her childhood in Portsmouth, Dipnall was inspired by family trips to England’s scenic West Country. An absence of formal training, combined with her bucolic surroundings, infuses Dipnall’s work with a warm, carefree mood. She began painting full-time after marrying and having children, focusing on wildflower imagery. First exhibiting in 1980, Dipnall continues to display her work regularly in England.
