Influenced by the Nazarenes and Italian Renaissance artists, Leighton (1830 – 1896) was an extremely intelligent, principled and hard-working artist who fluently spoke five languages. He was President of the Royal Academy for nearly two decades, and believed that sincerity bred achievement. This finely crafted wall tapestry is made in the USA by skilled artisans, using Jacquard looms and pure cotton yarn. An iron rod and finial are included, in addition to brackets and hardware for easy hanging.
