Ewing Galloway (1881 – 1953) established the Ewing Galloway Agency to archive images by a group of photographers whose work was reproduced in numerous books and magazines. Galloway, a journalist who was originally a lawyer, wrote for newspapers in the Midwest, California, Hawaii and Kentucky. He was the photo editor for “Colliers” in New York before, initially stocked with 8,000 images, opening his own photo agency. Learning how to use a camera when he was older, Galloway historically preserved everyday life, transportation, familiar locations and commerce in his agency’s images. Digitally Printed on Archival Photographic Paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
