Wath Main Colliery Wath upon Dearne near Rotherham South Yorkshire The pit was originally sunk in to a depth of yards and deepened in the reach the higher quality coal of the Park Gate seam In the late s the pit was connected by a diesel roadway to Manvers Main colliery from where coal mined at Wath was brought to the surface The last coal was mined in Wath in and just prior to closure around tonnes per year were being produced
