Recognized as one of the world’s most brilliant fashion illustrators, Georges Lepape (1887-1971) broke artistic ground by introducing action and intrigue to high fashion illustration. Born in France, his work was sought after by leading fashion houses. He illustrated the first cover of “Vogue’s” British edition and produced eight “Vogue” covers within one year in addition to creating covers for “Harper’s Bazaar.” In addition to his magazine work, Lepape provided artwork for luxury goods, catalogs, posters and the ballet.
