Actress Joan Bennett appeared in several 20th Century Fox films including Puttin' On the Ritz and Me and My Gal, before leaving the studio to appear in MGM's Little Women. Bennett's long career took her from silent films and talkies to the TV soap opera Dark Shadows. Edward Steichen's black and white portrait of Bennett, seated on top of a bass drum, appeared in the July 1, 1935, Vogue.
