Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic Guggenheim Museum design was built by Solomon R. Guggenheim to house his expansive collection of modern art. The museum opened in 1959 and has become a New York City landmark and essential destination for art lovers in the years since. Evelyn Hofer's vintage black and white photograph of the Guggenheim aglow at night, intended for Vogue magazine, was never published.
