Actor Paul Muni received an Academy Award nomination for best actor for his role in The Life of Emile Zola, and later won for The Story of Louis Pasteur. In 1955 Muni was nominated for a Tony for his role as Henry Drummond in the play Inherit the Wind, based on the infamous Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925. Muni retired in 1959, after receiving his final Oscar nomination, for The Last Angry Man. This photograph of the actor, by Tony Von Horn, appeared in the August 1932 Vanity Fair.
