Titanic Sinking. Titanic Sinking. Artist's impression (illustration) of the White Star liner, RMS Titanic sinking on April 15th 1912. This illustration appeared in The Sphere; published in London on 20th April 1912. Titanic sank during it's maiden voyage to New York after striking an iceberg of the coast off Newfoundland. Steamship was built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast Ireland 1910 - 1911.

Artist has captured rare survival conditions in an extremely disastrous situation. I like the black and white contrast because very early morning conditions at sea (Mon) April 15.
I feel it noteworthy that the actual artist of this illustration should be worth mentioning.
