Danielle O'Malley's ink drawing, called 'The Sun Loves the Desert', was created while on a road trip through the USA in 2018. This fine art print features the rising sun giving a surreal desert landscape a big hug, because he loves the land. Inside the landscape are telepathic Roswell green aliens and fairy creatures lounging and dancing on his long fingers. There are crash landing sites, crop circles, abducted sheep and alien cowboys having a bon fire and eating out of tin cans. Inspired by desert folklores, particularly those surrounding Roswell, NM, this piece explores themes of sun worship, science fiction, life on other planets and love for planet earth.
