Carl Frederik Aagaard’s “The Deer Park” is a magical forest of graceful branches, shimmering light and reflective water. One of Copenhagen’s foremost Golden Age artists, Aagaard (1833 – 1895) was instructed by many famous artists, including landscape painter Peter Kristian Skoovgaard. Aagaard exhibited his work to such acclaim, he was commissioned by King Christian IV to paint his chapel.
