The Blood of Fish, published in 'Ver Sacrum' magazine, 1898 (engraving), Klimt, Gustav (1862-1918) / Private Collection / The Bridgeman Art Library
Austrian iconoclast Gustav Klimt (1862 – 1918) triumphed over childhood poverty to significantly influence the Viennese Secession and Art Nouveau movement. Klimt’s elaborate, explicitly sensual works expressed themes of regeneration, love and death, and incorporated Egyptian, Classical Greek, Byzantine and Medieval styles. Klimt also utilized symbols representing art’s liberation from traditional culture. Laying the groundwork for Art Deco and Modernism, Klimt’s creative influence can still be seen in today’s art, decorations and jewelry.

    • This premium giclée print, an upgrade from the standard giclée print, is produced on thick (310 gsm), textured watercolor paper made from alpha cellulous wood pulp that is acid free. It shares the same vivid colors, accuracy, and exceptional resolution that make giclée prints the standard for museums and galleries around the world. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto a high-quality paper. The smooth transitions of color gradients make giclée prints appear much more realistic than other prints. More
