Troubled artist Vincent Van Gogh (1853 – 1890) longed for the tranquility and stability he portrays in “The Bedroom at Arles, c. 1887.” Van Gogh rented four rooms in his Yellow House in France in order to establish an artists’ colony which included his friend, Paul Gauguin. Painted shortly before he cut off his own ear, elements in the painting also represent Van Gogh’s internal struggle, which drove him to make that dramatic and painful decision. Slipping further in to depression, the prolific artist’s creativity ad productivity continued to flourish in Southern France’s bright light and color.

The brilliant artwork of post-Impressionist Dutch Master Vincent Van Gogh (1853 – 1890) powerfully impacted countless artistic movements. Producing all of his works within a decade, Van Gogh’s output in just one year totaled 150 paintings and drawings. OOPS, There are 3 options, different colors. I wanted the one with the green floor and yellow chair seat! For a deep red wall in a ski condo above an oak headboard with white duvet & linens. Used white frame & off-white mat (bad choice), use "bright white" mat for match to white frame. Return shipping was expensive! $$$ Should be some system to use cheaper company shipping costs.
