William Holbrook Beard (1825-1900) is known for his caricatures and for humorously anthropomorphized animals. Through his inventiveness and originality, he satirized businessmen, scientists, politicians and other professionals. With marksmanship as accurate as it is funny, Beard’s satirical paintings are equally witty and thought-provoking. Despite his lack of formal art training, the self-taught Beard’s work was greatly en vogue.
This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface.
