Nature’s solitude is expressed eloquently through Richard Calvo’s masterful black and white photographs. Calvo’s work appears simple, but hides a depth and complexity that has been described as both romantic and abstract. Trained as a journalist, Calvo first gained acclaim in the Army for his Vietnam combat photography. He concentrates on landscape imagery, hand-developing his work so each image has its own personality. Calvo has won many awards since the 1960s, and his luminous photos hang in galleries in the United States and abroad.
