Growing up in the Texas hill country, a young Kim Coulter had endless subject matter to develop her interests in drawing and painting en plein aire. Her formal art training includes a BA in Art Therapy and post-graduate work from prestigious schools across the country. After working as an art therapist and art teacher, Coulter devoted herself to a career as an oil painter in the early 90s. While living in Southern California she became inspired by early California Impressionists, and after moving back to the Southwest, she gained interest in contemporary Impressionist masters. Coulter’s work has been featured in prestigious art magazines and exhibitions. Her work hangs in many private and corporate collections including hospitals and the Mayo Clinic.
