Sigmund Freud, 1994 (pencil on paper), Kendall, Dinah Roe (b.1923) / Private Collection / The Bridgeman Art Library
Dinah Roe was born in Bakewell in 1923 into a family of professional artists. After the war Dinah gained a place at Slade School of Fine Art where she was a student for three years. Dinah married in 1950 and she had five children. During this time her work was severely limited. She eventually returned to Slade where she taught Print-making, and did drawing and painting at home. Dinah's work often has an emphasis on her personal faith in Jesus Christ. The British Council arranged for her to have an Exhibition in Niscosia. In 1993 she exhibited in Kensington in Duncan Campbell's Gallery. Following this she had a solo exhibition in Chichester Cathedral.
