About the Artwork
French artist Charles Hallo (1882-1960) combined his talents for fine art with his graphic art skills to be among the first to specialize in travel poster design for the French Railway System PLM, and for the shipping line, Red Star Line. Born in Dijon, France, he attended the School of Fine Arts in Dijon and was selected for the prestigious Salon de la National. A decorated war hero, Hallo died in Chambord, France.
