    French painter Henri Matisse (1869 – 1954) expressed joy through patterns, ornamentation and vivid colors. Given a paint set while recovering from an illness, Matisse described his discovery of art as “a kind of paradise.” Originally labeled a Fauvist, he produced early works that were remarkably mature. After seeing Impressionist and Japanese art, Matisse made color instrumental to his work, and experimented with expressive abstraction. He also decorated the Dominican nuns’ chapel at Vence, France when he was almost 80. Matisse, who was often nervous, relieved his tension through painting.
    This art print displays sharp, vivid images with a high degree of color accuracy.       This poster art format is great for those looking for something of quality but not looking to break the bank. I have used poster art in the past and will continue to buy art in this manner for several reasons. First it is high quality paper not cheap. Secondly, it enables me to find pieces that I otherwise would not be able to find. Thirdly, most of the art you would buy at a furniture store or other outlet that sells artwork is the same basic thing marked up. I do not see many original Matisse pieces floating around in my local stores. It is great way to find the size of art that you want in order to fill old frames that are just hanging around the house. Find them dust them off measure the frame and find a piece that will fit your needs. My son is going to college and needs to fill alot of wall space. We will use poster frames and posters from allposters and let him pick out what he wants. Inexpensive and custom for his needs.
