Michael Banks is a British photographer who specializes in startling viewers with exciting and unexpected non-representational, contemporary abstractions. After 12 years as a commercial photographer, he now defies conventional photography with a style he calls “techno art.” Challenging reality’s boundaries, Banks’ work is a dynamic fusion of blurred, indistinct, abstract and digitized images. He strives to achieve abstraction by isolating a subject’s essence and manipulating aspects of its form, rather than photographing its literal image.
