The drama of the 19th Century Italian opera was advertised with equally dramatic posters. The flamboyant “Puccini La Boheme” was created by German Art Nouveau master Adolpho Hohenstein (1854 – 1928), who was nicknamed “Father of the Italian Poster.” He helped transform the Italian poster into a grandiose art form while advertising equally grandiose music. The Giclee printing process delivers a fine stream of ink resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
