Mark King depicts the leisure lifestyle of golf, polo, and tony foreign destinations through his mastery of Impressionism. Born to British parents in India, at 16 he experienced the final days of the British Raj. With degrees in botany and art from Calcutta, he sailed to England to further his artistic studies. After a decade as a scenic designer for theaters, he moved to Paris to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the Louvre. He studied both old and modern Impressionist masters from Cimabue to Degas.
