European history oil painting titled The Battle of Ter Heijde, created by Jan Abrahamsz Beerstraaten sometime between the years 1653 and 1666, and depicts the naval battle between the Dutch and the English that took place near Ter Heijde on August 10, 1653. The theme of the oil painting is the First Anglo-Dutch War, and its highlight is the combat between the Dutch ship Maarten Tromp and the British flagship Resolution that was commandeered by Admiral Monk.
