Product Information
Nicolas De Staël’s “Noon Landscape” is filled with realistic and representational elements that express his observations of the external world and his internal, abstract fantasies. De Staël (1914 – 1955) was born in the former Soviet Union and lived in Paris, initially painting still lifes and portraits. When his style—abstract instilled with realism—emerged, he worked with a palette knife to create thick, encrusted color blocks. De Staël exhibited with the renowned artist Wassily Kandinsky only one year after moving to Paris. Tragically, De Staël committed suicide, but lives on as one of Europe’s most influential post-war artists. This fine art print is produced on Forest Stewardship Council certified paper, using post-consumer and sustainably sourced paper, and soy-based inks.
