Simon Marsden, a British photographer, is the gatekeeper to a foreboding, ghostly realm of shadowy, ancient buildings and mist-shrouded lands. Marsden’s strong belief in apparitions and their presence in our world is expressed in magnificent, sinister black and white photos. He often utilizes black and white film in ominous photos of landscapes and architecture in Europe and the United States. Marsden’s world-renowned work haunts many museums, including Los Angeles’ J. Paul Getty Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. This image was exposed on infrared film by the photographer to achieve a grainy quality intended to evoke a mystical feeling. The giclee print is produced on a heavy 310 gsm, acid-free and watercolor textured paper suitable for gallery display.
